Far too often here, Adaline's parade of period dresses, coats and handbags stand in for the richness of human experience.. This is a film that needs Amy Adams's twinkle or Sandra Bullock's nervous stammering. It needs a star with life.. The makings of an interesting movie are here, but the script, written by J.
